Employers having tougher time finding workers who can pass drug test
More and more frequently, employers face the challenge of finding workers who can pass drug tests.
American employers have been implementing workplace drug testing to promote safety and productivity since the 1980s. These measures are effective for most companies in the Cincinnati-area. Drug testing, however, can make hiring employees more difficult for smaller manufacturing companies like Casco Manufacturing Solutions.
Melissa Mangold, Casco’s president, stated the difficulties in the following quote,
“We have to be very creative with manpower,” she said. “It has become increasingly more challenging to find people who want to work. One of the reasons is our drug-free work environment. It is profoundly difficult to find workers who can pass a nine-panel drug test, much less a more difficult one.”
Mangold, President and Owner of Casco Manufacturing Solutions, was featured in Steve Morrison’s article Employers having tougher time finding workers who can pass drug test on WCPO.com. Read the article.
