At Casco Manufacturing, we’re proud of our legacy—and even prouder when that legacy is recognized by organizations that understand the challenges and triumphs of family-run businesses. In 2018, our commitment to innovation, leadership, and operational excellence earned us multiple honors from the Goering Center for Family and Private Business, a leading organization dedicated to nurturing privately held businesses in the Cincinnati region.
Finalist for Family Business Division Award
Casco was selected as one of only three finalists in the 16–75 Employees Family Business Division category at the 19th Annual Goering Center Family & Private Business Awards. With nearly 500 companies nominated each year, earning a finalist spot is a significant achievement that highlights our dedication to quality, customer service, and the values that define our woman-owned, family-led operation.
Held at the JACK Casino in downtown Cincinnati, the awards ceremony brought together outstanding companies from across the region. While Carabello Coffee took home the top honor in our category, we were deeply honored to stand alongside such exceptional businesses and be recognized as a finalist.
A Rising Leader in Manufacturing Innovation
The evening brought additional celebration as Nathan Bare, a talented industrial engineer on our team, was named a semifinalist for the Goering Center’s Rising Leader Award. Nathan joined Casco shortly after graduating from Wright State University and quickly made a major impact by reimagining our production floor layout and boosting manufacturing efficiency.
His recognition by the Goering Center underscores our commitment not only to operational excellence but to cultivating the next generation of manufacturing leadership. Nathan’s strategic thinking and passion for continuous improvement reflect the values that have guided Casco for over six decades.
What the Goering Center Honors Represent
The Goering Center, affiliated with the University of Cincinnati’s Carl H. Lindner College of Business, is the nation’s largest university-based educational non-profit for family and private businesses. With more than 400 member companies, the Center provides education, leadership development, and succession planning resources that help companies like Casco thrive in a competitive, ever-changing environment.
Being named a finalist and recognized for individual leadership highlights Casco’s strength not just in what we make—but in how we operate. From our custom medical mattresses and surgical pads to institutional sewn goods and outdoor protective covers, our team is constantly focused on precision, performance, and people.
A Culture of Innovation and Family Values
What makes Casco stand out isn’t just our technical capabilities—it’s our culture. Our team combines deep industry expertise in cutting, sealing, and sewing with a collaborative, forward-thinking spirit. As a certified woman-owned business based in Cincinnati, we’ve built strong relationships with hospitals, institutions, and first responder organizations across the country by delivering high-performance products that support patient care and operational efficiency.
The Goering Center awards reinforced the importance of family businesses in the fabric of our regional economy. Casco’s journey—from humble beginnings to a nationally trusted OEM supplier—is a testament to what’s possible when a company pairs strong values with bold innovation.
Looking Ahead
Recognition from the Goering Center is more than a moment of celebration—it’s a reminder of the responsibility we carry as a manufacturer. At Casco, we’re committed to continuing our legacy of quality, care, and continuous improvement. Whether we’re designing a custom mattress for a high-traffic medical facility or developing a product that enhances safety and comfort for emergency responders, we do it with purpose and pride.
As we look to the future, we remain grateful for the support of our community, our partners, and our incredible team who bring excellence to life every day.
