Partnering for Pediatric Care: Casco Manufacturing Solutions & Cincinnati Children’s Hospital

At Casco Manufacturing Solutions, we believe that true innovation begins with listening. Our ongoing partnership with Cincinnati Children’s Hospital is a powerful example of what can be achieved when expertise meets collaboration—and patient care is the top priority.

A Partnership Rooted in Purpose

In October 2018, our journey with Cincinnati Children’s began when Jeff Hummeldorf, our Vice President, was approached by the hospital’s skin care team. They had a serious concern: traditional crib mattresses were contributing to skin breakdown in pediatric patients. Recognizing the critical need for a better solution, we immediately got to work.

Designing a Better Mattress for Better Outcomes

Working closely with the hospital’s care team, we developed a custom prototype prevention crib mattress specifically designed to address their concerns. After undergoing rigorous testing and delivering impressive results in reducing skin breakdown, our mattress was officially adopted by the hospital in July 2019.

Expanding the Impact

What started with a single product has since evolved into a broader collaboration. Today, we also produce custom items such as C-Matt Crib Side Rail Pads and Pediatric Positioning Wedges—each created with the same commitment to quality, innovation, and patient well-being.
