Trinity Guardion’s Product Proven Effective Against C. Diff
Reducing infections that patients acquire in hospitals saves lives — but doesn’t often make the evening news. Our partner, Trinity Guardion, was recently highlighted in a Cincinnati television news story for their bed protection system.
The Local12 story breaks down the study that proved Trinity Guardion’s mattress, bed and pillow cover system reduces the presence of Clostridium difficile bacteria (C. diff) on soft surfaces in hospitals. C. diff bacteria is very contagious and causes diarrhea, stomach pain and high fever. The research was conducted by Cincinnati’s Xavier University and published in the American Journal of Infection Control.
The report does a great job of breaking down the importance of preventing infections in hospitals and how the Trinity Guardion system accomplishes this with their reusable mattress covers. With these covers, beds and other soft surfaces are protected from germs and are removed between patient stays to be washed and sanitized.
We at Casco are proud to be a manufacturing partner with Trinity Guardion in nearby Batesville, Indiana. Between their product, our manufacturing and Xavier’s research — the Greater Cincinnati area is making a significant contribution in reducing hospital-acquired infections.
