National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel (NPUAP) announced on Friday that it has changed its name to the National Pressure Injury Advisory Panel (NPIAP). They say that the new name reflects the future direction of the organization and a reaffirming of our commitment to adopt the internationally preferred term, pressure injury, in place of pressure ulcer.
To ensure the safety of both the current patient, and the next patient, each surface must be cleaned correctly and thoroughly, otherwise patients may be compromised by germs/threats that are not necessarily visible to the naked eye. Cynthia C., an HCA member from Missouri and current customer, was inquiring regarding an issue her facility’s emergency department transport staff had been experiencing regarding the transfer of patients off of our polyurethane surface. To help find a suitable solution to this problem, Nancy worked with Cynthia to find an alternative surface that would make transferring patients easier on the staff. The solution to the problem was to switch from polyurethane stretcher pads to our conductive fabric stretcher pads, which Cynthia’s staff loved and continue to purchase today. This is just one of many examples of how we go out of our way to meet our customers’ needs.
Tricia R., a Supply Chain Director at a medical facility in Texas, was in the market for replacement mattresses, as her facility was looking to replace mattresses on a routine basis. After comparing our C-Matt™ StatiCare Mattress with a competitor equivalent, Tricia and her team determined that our product was the better option, both in terms of price and quality. Tricia had this to say about Casco: “I have been a loyal customer since the HealthTrust agreement began…You do great work and we appreciate your partnership to help reduce expense in healthcare.”
“The quality of a patient’s mattress can make a great difference in not only patient comfort, but in wound healing, prevention, and ultimately, the cost of medical care.”

The Healthtrust account manager called us and asked if we could hold a product review meeting in Memphis over the next couple days. She wanted us to present a mattress we produce that meets the same standards as other mattresses the hospital was currently evaluating.
